Toronto rapper FenaxiZ has built a reputation in the underground as an introspective yet observant poet and torch-bearer of old school Hip-Hop. Fans and peers alike recognize him for the sincerity and soul he bleeds onto every track and the subtle bravado he carries himself with. Influenced by the likes of Nas and Common, FenaxiZ aims to affect lives with his art and spread his message across the world.

Set to release his first full-length LP Vintage in 2012, FenaxiZ cites the project as a celebration of the mid-90s era of Hip-Hop in which he grew up with and came to love. "There was a certain level of authenticity inherent in the music during that time and I wanted to create an album that would express my appreciation of it," he explains. With such a daunting task in mind, FenaxiZ enlists the talent of Toronto's finest throwback beatsmiths. Producers like TymE One, AmiR The Terrorist, DJ Incise, Anonymous Twist, and Royce Birth provide a backdrop of sample-laden boom-bap for FenaxiZ to bless with his intricate lyrics. Guest appearances are kept to a minimum with his US! crew featured on the posse cut "Go For Broke," while blues guitarist J. Latte lends his talents to the Filipino history opus "White Man's Burden" and Island/Def Jam Recording Artist August Rigo lays down the chorus for the ode-to-woman "Queen."

From writing rhymes since 13 to eventually amassing over 100 local performances under his belt, FenaxiZ has also opened for acts like The Definitive Jux, ONYX, D-Pryde, and Mike Swift. In 2004, his independently released EP The Audiobiography received rotation on college radio, which enabled him to network then develop those connections two years later on The Strongest Link mixtape. FenaxiZ has collaborated with artists such as Tunji (of Inverse), Prestege, T-West, J. Moy, MC Fubb, Scott Ramirez, and Tre Nice, to name a few. He is also a member of the US! collective, which includes Toronto-notables Alex Dimez, Nyce Touch, Taylor Made, and others.

When asked where he sees himself in five years, FenaxiZ is quick to respond: "Ultimately, I want to tour the world and connect with people's hearts and minds." He continues, "If my music can cross international borders, raise awareness about my community's struggles, and have a profound impact on other's lives, then I'll consider my job done and all my hard work and sacrifice will have been worth it."
